Lasers are an excellent alternative medical or cosmetic procedure.

Laser emits an intense beam of light that can target specific concerns, such as blood vessels, brown spots, acne scars, rough skin texture and some medical concerns.  Laser therapy is a quick and safe option for your skin care needs.

The dark spots will turn temporarily darker after a successful treatment, then flake off like coffee grounds within one or two weeks. BLUECORE IRIS PI ND:YAG FOR BROWN SPOTS AND TATTOO REMOVAL

The Bluecore IRIS Pi Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is an effective treatment for lentigines, also known as age spots or sun spots. It is designed to safely remove benign pigmented lesions by targeting melanin, the pigment responsible for the dark spots.

How the IRIS Pi laser works for lentigo?

The IRIS Pi is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser, which means it emits very high-power light in extremely short bursts. For lentigo treatment, it uses a 532 nm wavelength, which is absorbed by the melanin in the skin.

The laser removes lentigines through the principle of selective photothermolysis:

  • Melanin targeting: The laser energy is absorbed by the excess melanin in the lesion, which converts the light into heat.
  • Pigment destruction: The intense heat shatters the pigment particles without causing significant damage to the surrounding skin tissue.
  • Spot clearance: After treatment, the targeted spots can turn white or gray temporarily. Over the following weeks, the shattered pigment is cleared by the body, and the brown spots fade away. Common side effects include temporary purple to red discoloration of the spot, light swelling, and crusting, which typically resolve within a couple of weeks.  The skin will appear light pink after the crusting resolves and within a few weeks will return to normal pigment.
  • It is very important not to tan skin or have excess sun exposure prior to or after the treatment area.
